Albons is a municipality in the Baix Empordà region in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain.

It is located in Spain, near the Mediterranean, in an area known for its scenic beauty and cultural heritage. Albons has a rich and diverse history that dates back centuries. In the Middle Ages, Albons experienced significant development, with the construction of churches and the design of the town layout being characteristic elements of this era. The Castell d'Albons was documented in 1170 and marks the origin of the town. It is located on the highest point of a hill and is part of the Montgrí Natural Park. The building has the shape of a fortified manor house from the 15th century but has been remodeled several times over the centuries. The architecture features a large vaulted gate, stone staircases, and elements from both the medieval period and the 17th century. Historically, the castle was owned by various noble families and was taken over by the crown in the 14th century. Today, it is protected as a cultural asset of national interest.
